Abstract

The overall incidence of significant pain in cancer patients has been assessed at 40%.1 The World Health Organization (WHO) has published guidelines2 for the management of cancer pain and emphasised the need for providing treatment based upon the following aspects:
1. By mouth
2. By the clock
3. For the individual
