bronchospasm, equipment failure, cognitive biasAbstract
Premature closure is one of a list of cognitive biases in decision-making during anaesthesia. Cognitive biases may delay the recognition and correct treatment of a life-threatening event. The authors describe a case of wrongly diagnosed bronchospasm following endotracheal intubation in a 53-year-old female patient who presented for elective peritoneal dialysis catheter reinsertion.
